Mauna Loa Volcano Eruption Update; New Eruption Occurs, Summit Covered in Lava
On November 27th, 2022 the Mauna Loa volcano erupted for the first time in 38 years. As a result, a wide swath of Hawaii's Big Island, including 50,000 people are at risk of being inundated by lava flows.
