Singers Ricky Martin and Courtney Love, producer Ryan Murphy, tennis legend Martina Navratilova and others have joined Sir Elton John in his call to boycott Dolce & Gabbana following comments by the fashion-house founders opposing adoptions by gay couples and calling children born through in vitro fertilization "synthetic."
"How dare you refer to my beautiful children as 'synthetic,' " Sir Elton, who turns 68 on March 25, wrote on Instagram Sunday. The Rock and Roll Hall of Famer has two IVF-conceived children with his husband, David Furnish. "And shame on you for wagging your judgemental little fingers at IVF -- a miracle that has allowed legions of loving people, both straight and gay, to fulfil their dream of having children," he continued. "Your archaic thinking is out of step with the times, just like your fashions. I shall never wear Dolce and Gabbana ever again.
Barneys New York unveiled its "Electric Holiday" with a Disney-themed spectacle. New York City and Disney World might be located at opposite ends of the country, but the two converged on Madison Avenue to unveil Barneys New York's "Electric Holiday" campaign.
In celebration of the holidays, Barneys and Disney have collaborated on a short animated film featuring dressed-up versions of their classic characters alongside cartoon versions of some of fashion's most famous figures. "They brought their beloved characters and we brought some beloved real fashion work characters," Barneys's CEO Mark Lee explains the collaborative effort: "It's truly a dream, and is really all about the magic of Disney."
A 10-Year-Old photo-spread In French Vogue causes controversy. Thylane Loubry Blondeau has been posing and posturing amongst the industry's elite, but many think the young girl is being pushed too far, getting a little too grown up for photo spreads in magazines like French Vogue.
The child model's parents are Patrick Blondeau, a former soccer player, and Véronika Loubry, who used to present a celebrity news show on French television and now designs a mother-daughter clothing line.

For as long as people have worn jewelry made of precious stones and metals, they have also made false versions of that jewelry. Even ancient Greeks and Romans wore glass jewelry, which imitated the look of expensive precious stones. During the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries French and English jewelers worked to perfect new hard types of glass that could be cut to give the many-faceted look of a diamond. This glass was called paste, and paste became the name given to false jewels. Jewelry made of these paste jewels was usually called fashioned jewelry because the stones were made or fashioned by people.
