I finally asked her if Miami was her home or if she was traveling for business or pleasure. She told me she was traveling to attend a deposition but did not elaborate. I told her I was on my way back home after attending my teacher's memorial service in Philadelphia.

Then, I mentioned the last time I flew to Philadelphia this past May, when I had a Memorial Service for my LIFE PARTNER who passed away suddenly and at a young age after 32 years of being together.

She immediately empathized with my situation and told me she lost her husband 2 1/2 years ago in a plane crash in Florida and the deposition she was going to was related to her husband's death.

It is amazing how quickly we started sharing stories from our loved ones and how much comfort we provided each other. She told me her fifth and sixth months were the worst but she said..."it gets better". She speaks to him all the time and she can actually feel him around. She told me there are always messages from him around her. I told her I am not a believer, but I had also found messages from Robert.

It was an impromptu support session and we both felt good! I told her about this web site and how Bob had inspired me to create it. I asked her to contact me with feedback after she enters the site.

At that point it did not matter how long I had to wait at the airport or how awful her change of routes and plans had been. It mattered to both of us, I believe, and especially to me, the fact that this special person gave me not only comfort, but also gave me the opportunity of being supportive towards her.
