I was curious to see how this event would play out, so I shot from 8pm to 10pm on September 17 at the General Assembly in Zuccotti Park. I was touched by the sense of community, and impressed by the level of cooperation and discipline among the occupiers. The police presence was large, but they seemed to be under orders not to escalate conflict. Both sides were respectful and non-confrontational. This is a group of passionate, concerned, and intelligent people. Their behavior in the park suggested a great appreciation of democracy, and a desire to cut through the clogged media and political channels to communicate a message they feel is incredibly important.

The New York Police forcibly cleared Zuccotti park for cleaning. "Liberty Square [Zuccotti Park], home of Occupy Wall Street for the past two months and birthplace of the 99% movement that has spread across the country and around the world, is presently being evicted by a large police force," the demonstrators said in a statement released on Tuesday. According to police officials, most of the protesters left peacefully. However, 15 people were arrested for disorderly conduct and resisting arrest.

Journalist Luke Rudkowski was attacked by police Wednesday night while trying to document the Occupy Wall Street arrests in NY. NYPD used pepper spray, batons, and brute force to move protesters away from the entrance to Wall Street after many tried to push through police barricades. Rumors immediately circulated that police provocateurs dressed as protesters were to blame for the incident.

New York police officers have been arresting Occupy Wall Street demonstrators who took to the streets Wednesday to decry a crackdown against fellow protesters in Oakland, California.

RT Reports: There have been reports of police beating war veterans during a peaceful protest in the U.S. city of Boston. The demonstration was part of the Occupy Wall Street movement, which is aimed at big business and banks. The protests which started in New York are now countrywide.
