MIDSUMMER KUPALA NIGHT is a Slavic feast associated with the summer solstice of the Sun, celebrated in the shortest night of the year. This is festival of water and fire.
On June 21, 2011 in Poznan, Poland near the Warta River, this feast was also a flash mob in which participants have released one thousand lanterns into the sky.

It is one of the most romantic nights in Poland every year.

Be aware that the scene shown in this clip includes important aspects of the storyline of this extraordinary movie. During Brezhnev's Soviet Union, Andrei Filipov was considered the best orchestra director in charge of the renown Bolshoi Orchestra. When he refuses to dismiss his Jewish musicians from the Orchestra, he himself is dismissed. Thirty years later he continues to work for the Bolshoi, but not as the Director but as a janitor. One night while cleaning his boss's office, he finds a fax requesting the presence of the Orchestra at a Paris performance. He decides to call his old time musicians and perform at the Paris concert with a magnificent performance of Tchaikovsky Violin Concerto.
