In one of the more effective and touching "It Gets Better" videos, men and women from the Austin Police Department come together to send a clear message: "Before we put on our uniform, before we go to work protecting the citizens of Austin, we are a part of Texas, and we are gay." The officers and other staffers then tell their personal stories, most of which involve isolation and fear, emotions with which most LGBT people can relate. But there's also humor and hope, as when one lady officer admits she didn't want to be the damsel in distress, "I wanted to protect the damsel in distress".

Thi is a special tribute created for Jamie Hubley, a gay 15-year-old from Ottawa, Canada who recently committed suicide as a result of bullying. The 10th grade student documented his life, including his depression and the hardships of being a gay teen in a blog. This song was written by a 16 year old girl to express her feelings in support of anti-bullying. She explains: "As a 16 year old I see a lot going on around me; especially with bullying and the effects that it has on those who are bullied and what lengths teens will go to to "get away" from it all. I want you to know suicide is never the answer. Truth is...you are loved, you are not alone...you are never alone".
