From Vincent Callebaut Architects, this impressive project is meant to navigate through the rivers in Europe in order to clean water make it drinkable. Its name comes from “Physalia physalis”, meaning “water bubble”. It is a project whose idea came from a major global issue which is the fact that one billion people nowadays don’t have access to drinking water. Passing Through
Passing Through by Kristian Ulrich Larsen. The text used for the narration of “Passing Through” is part of a speech Serbia scientist and inventor Nicola Tesla delivered in 1893 at the Franklin Institute in Philadelphia. Though today less known than figures like Edison and Einstein, Tesla was more or less the father of much of our modern technology, since he among other things developed the foundations of the European electrical system based on alternating currents and the principles of wireless radio communication. At the time he was deeply influenced by the Austrian physicist and philosopher Ernst Mach, believing that the world should be conceived as a whole where everything is interconnected influencing each other. And that energy is a force that runs through everything be it inorganic matter, organisms or human consciousness. According to this line of thought every single action has universal consequences, not unlike what the father of modern chaos theory Edward Lorenz in the 1960’s termed ‘the butterfly effect’.

Israel: Innovation and Technology
Remarkable 10 minute movie demonstrating an Israeli spirit of can-do and the willingness to share its technology with its neighbors for the betterment of all. This essence is balanced against a pariah image that Israel's enemies foster continually. We have to figure out why Israel is despised on the world stage. That too would be educational, but not as uplifting as Israel, a land of miracles.

Hedy Lamarr: The Other Side of the Screen Siren
Old Hollywood screen siren Hedy Lamarr is trending thanks to a new biography that reveals details about her lesser known role as an inventor of technology that paved the way for wireless communication.
Lamarr became an MGM staple in the late 30s and 40s, appearing in Algiers and White Cargo, but she was best known for her provocative role in the 1933 Czech film Ecstasy, in which she appeared nude and performed an on-screen orgasm.

In his new book, Hedy?s Folly, author Richard Rhodes explains how Lamarr, along with musical composer George Antheil, invented a device during World War II that created a frequency-hopping radio signal that could evade enemy jamming used to send torpedoes off course. Lamarr's invention became the basis for the technology underlying Wi-Fi, GPS, and certain cordless and wireless phones.
